Hydralube have been formulating energy saving plasma lubrication products since 1991. With considerable experience in the aerospace, defence, automotive and marine sectors Hydralube have been securing significant energy savings for industry for over 17 years.

What are our Plasma Products?

Formulated from synthetic food grade* chemicals, our plasma products lubricate, protect and extend the working life of all types of mechanical assets at varying stages of wear. The plasma products minimise the friction between asset components and as a result reduce both energy consumption and maintenance costs.

Our plasma products outperform** conventional and synthetic lubricants and are compatible with all mineral hydrocarbon oils and greases. Our plasma fluids and gels are produced in a number of different ISO and NLGI grades.

* Hydralube's food grade plasmas have NSF, WRAS and WRc approvals.
** Independent tests carried out in the UK by the National Centre of Tribology show that the Hydralube product significantly reduces wear and saves over 10% in electrical energy compared to equivalent competitor products.

How do They Work?

Hydralube’s plasma products utilises the energy generated by moving contact surfaces to form a protective shield between metal and plastic surfaces. Developed from military research for low-friction coatings, the Plasma products have been formulated by Peter Dryden, Hydralube’s Research and Development Director, a tribologist of some 45 years experience.

The Plasma’s reduce the shockwave phenomena that is experienced when contra-rotating gears, slide or guide work surfaces are in contact. The products offers significant friction reduction, saving both energy consumption and lowering wear to such an extent that it will increase machine life by up to 25%. The plasma’s can be used in any application where traditional mineral and synthetic oils & greases are used to counteract the effect of friction.
